First developed as part of ODC's Pilot Program for emerging choreographers, Self & Selfie is a collaboration with the french actress Marie Walburg-Plouviez of Carte Blanche.
Self & Selfie reflect each other. Self is the philosopher. Selfie, the photographer. Self has been around since Narcissus saw his reflection. She's still trying to work out who she is. Selfie lives a day at a time and, well, she doesn't need to know who she is because you know it for her. They chronicle their story and discoveries in live performance, photos, videos, and on social media. They appeared live for the first time at ODC in San Francisco, CA on April 11 & 12, 2015 as a part of the Pilot 65: Cruising Altitude concert along with 5 other new works.
